Since graduating from the University of Detroit Mercy, Pam continued traveling nationally and internationally working as; a dancer, film and print model, lecturer, and spokesperson. But with family responsibilities growing, Pam decided to stay close to home and acquired a cosmetology and electrolysis license in the state of Michigan. She also became a certified color and image consultant and professional aesthetician, all of which enabled her to open her image consulting business in West Bloomfield, Michigan. There she not only worked with her clients on their beauty needs, she also began her own cosmetic line hoping to help her clients put their best face forward.
During this time she didn't just limit her clientele to professional women. She also enjoyed working with pre-teen and teen age girls through self improvement classes that she wrote and taught herself. She helped girls to build their self esteem and encouraged them to achieve success through self awareness and confidence. However, Pam didn't limit her information to lectures and classes. 
She also wrote a bi-weekly fashion column for the Oakland Press in Pontiac, Michigan for over eleven years. The popularity of her columns was because she informed her readers that they didn't have to spend a lot of money on cosmetics or clothing to be attractive. In fact, some of her most popular columns and lectures advised people about beauty products that can be found in their kitchens and medicine cabinets, all of which enabled people to bring out their natural beauty on a shoe string budget.
Since dance has been such a big part of Pam's life for so many years, she relished the ten years she traveled judging Showstopper National Dance Competition, especially since it was the first time she was able to work as a dancer without wrapping her bleeding toes! She also worked with the performers on makeup application for stage, television and photographic work.
Coming from a family with a special needs sister, Pam has always been aware of the pain and anxiety that special needs families experience through out their life, so it has always been important for her to be involved in national and local charities. In 1970, she was selected as Ambassador for Volunteers by the National Association of Retarded Citizens. She was also involved in helping to recruit congressmen to support the passage of the Development Disabilities Service and Construction Act, which provided funds for the mentally and physically handicapped. Throughout the years, Pam has continued to be involved with several charities like March of Dimes, Easter Seals, and Michigan Cancer Foundation. She was presented with several awards like the Meritorious Service Award for Humanitarian services for the mentally retarded.
Now retired and making only a few appearances a year, Pam and her husband, Norman N. Robbins, split their time between their homes in West Bloomfield, Michigan and Boca Raton, Florida.
Although "retired", Pam started the Pam Eldred's Community Health Scholarship in 2010. The scholarship is awarded annually at the Miss Michigan Pageant. Learn more here!
